Ethereum Classic has made history becoming the first digital currency research available on Bloomberg Terminals.

Barry Silbert, the creator of the Ethereum Classic Fund administered by his Grayscale Investments, oversaw the asset’s thesis become available on the platform.

The event marks a further step in Silbert’s particular advocacy of Ethereum Classic, which has already seen multiple innovations.

Last week, London-based trading platform eToro announced it had begun offering ETC as a tradable pair, which followed a similar move from major Chinese cryptocurrency exchange BTCC.

Despite bullish community reactions, however, the timing of the Bloomberg move was perhaps less than optimal, coinciding with a Bitcoin price crash which dragged down the price of altcoins across the board.

As of press time, ETC had lost 15.5 percent in 24 hours as Bitcoin fell towards $2,100. The loss was not as high as that of its sister Ethereum, however, which had lost close to 20 percent to land at just over $300.

Grayscale’s parent company, Digital Currency Group (DCG), has meanwhile made the ranks of top Fintech investors in data compiled by FinTech Global.

DCG has closed 76 deals during the analysis period from 2014 to Q1 2017, second only to Y-Combinator and 500 Startups.
